Vivatmo me allows you to measure the degree of inflammation in your lower airways quickly and easily from the comfort of your own home. Giving you more control over the disease – and making life easier to plan.

“I’ve now got a better handle on my asthma and can lead a more active life”
Laura, aged 36, has suffered from allergic asthma since childhood. Her symptoms tend to flare up when she’s stressed or during the pollen season. “Those are the times when I suffer from breathing difficulties and bouts of severe coughing. It can get really bad! That’s why it’s so important for me to protect myself better against asthma attacks and lead a more relaxed life. This handy device is a huge help.”
How Vivatmo me works
Hold the device to your lips like a flute and breathe out evenly through the disposable mouthpiece. The LED display on the device shows you whether you are blowing too gently, too hard or just right. The measurement only takes around ten seconds. After successful measurement, you can read the results immediately. The traffic light colors show you the range of your FeNO values, helping you to better plan your day.
Answers to frequently asked questions
FeNO stands for “fractional exhaled nitric oxide”, and is a standardized breath sample obtained from the bronchi. The NO that thus becomes measurable is used as a biomarker for the diagnosis and follow-up of bronchial asthma.
Following an allergic reaction, the epithelial cells* in the lower respiratory tract produce increased amounts of NO. The nitric oxide or NO concentration in the exhaled breath therefore reflects the degree of allergic inflammation in the respiratory tract. The more severe the inflammation is, the more NO is produced and measured as FeNO.
*Epithelial cells lie together in single or multiple cell layers and cover all inner and outer surfaces of the human body.
Measuring FeNO at home helps you monitor the progression of the airway inflammation. Controlling asthma treatment by means of regular FeNO measurements can help to reduce the frequency of acute asthma episodes. A worsening of the inflammation is indicated by increased FeNO values, enabling your doctor to take therapeutic countermeasures at an early stage.
No. The costs for the Vivatmo me home monitoring device are not covered by the statutory health insurance funds in Germany. In some countries, FeNO measurement is reimbursed in the medical practice; in Germany, for example, by private health insurance companies.
